Purpose of This Document
This document is intended to clearly explain how Da Capo Web Development LLC delivers, licenses, hosts, and supports its software platforms. It is provided to ensure transparency and to set clear expectations for new clients prior to onboarding.
Our Platform Model
Da Capo Web Development LLC provides hosted software platforms designed specifically for music education organizations, school districts, and professional associations. These platforms are delivered under a licensed Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model.
Clients receive access to a secure, fully managed platform that is configured to meet their operational needs. The platform is continuously maintained, updated, and supported by Da Capo Web Development.
What Clients Receive
As a Da Capo client, your organization receives:
- Access to the Da Capo platform and its features
- Initial setup, configuration, and implementation services
- Secure cloud hosting and infrastructure management
- Ongoing maintenance, updates, and performance monitoring
- Technical support and user assistance
- Platform enhancements and improvements over time
This model allows clients to benefit from a robust, evolving system without the burden of managing servers, security, updates, or development resources.
Software Ownership and Intellectual Property
All source code, system architecture, databases, and underlying software components are the exclusive intellectual property of Da Capo Web Development LLC.
Clients do not receive ownership of the software, source code, or deployment artifacts. No transfer of intellectual property rights occurs as part of the service relationship.
License to Use the Platform
Clients are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Da Capo platform for their internal organizational purposes, subject to the terms of their service agreement.
This license remains in effect while the client account is active and in good standing.
Client Data Ownership
Clients retain full ownership of their data, including but not limited to:
- Student and participant information
- Registrations and rosters
- Uploaded documents and media
- Reports and administrative records
Da Capo Web Development does not claim ownership of client data.
Upon request and subject to account status, reasonable data exports (e.g., CSV or PDF formats) can be provided in accordance with our data retention and privacy policies.
Hosting, Security, and Compliance
Da Capo Web Development is responsible for:
- Hosting and infrastructure management
- Platform security and access controls
- Routine backups and system monitoring
- Applying updates and patches
This centralized hosting model ensures consistency, reliability, and compliance with applicable educational data protection standards.
Termination of Service
If service is terminated:
- Platform access will end
- Hosting and support services will conclude
- Client data will be handled in accordance with the agreed-upon data retention and deletion policies
Clients may request data exports prior to termination, subject to contractual terms.
